Sophie Danby
Co-Founder, IT Leader Exchange
Sophie Danby has spent over a decade connecting technology vendors, industry experts and IT professionals through trusted content, community and industry engagement.
As co-owner of ITSM.tools, she has helped build one of the IT service management industry’s most respected independent resources, giving technology leaders research, analysis, news and practical guidance free of marketing hype. Her career has also included senior leadership roles at enterprise software companies and five years at analyst firm Ovum (now Omdia), giving her a clear view of both the vendor and customer sides of the industry, with lasting relationships across vendors, analysts, practitioners and IT leaders.
Sophie says it as it is. She won’t sugarcoat, and she’ll call out marketing spin when she sees it, which is much of what IT Leader Exchange is a reaction to.
William Goddard
Co-Founder, IT Leader Exchange
William Goddard has spent almost three decades working across technology, marketing and community, helping companies understand, engage and support IT and business leaders.
As founder and president of GoTo Marketers Inc., he has partnered with companies across Big Data, Cyber, AI, Managed IT Services and enterprise software to bring products to market, define their messaging and lead cross-functional teams with organizations ranging from startups to global technology brands. Through IT Chronicles Media and the AllThingsITSM podcast, he has spent
years bringing technology leaders, practitioners, analysts and vendors together to exchange ideas and challenge industry assumptions.
William says the quiet things out loud and isn’t afraid to ruffle a few feathers with his honesty, which is more or less the whole idea behind IT Leader Exchange.
Collectively, William and Sophie have spent almost four decades working alongside
technology companies, industry communities, analysts, and IT leaders. Their careers have
been built on connecting people, sharing ideas, and creating environments where
meaningful conversations lead to better outcomes for everyone involved. IT Leader
Exchange is the culmination of that experience.
Why We Built This
Between us, we’ve been to hundreds of industry events, and we always come away feeling
they’ve not quite hit the mark. Sponsor sessions that turn into sales pitches. Half-baked
